The We in Me

homeLA’s education program that considers houselessness through the lens of art, empathy, and civic engagement

The We in Me programming was inspired by a statement released by the LA Mission in May 2021: “The homeless sector has spent millions of dollars on research but zero on educating the public on homelessness.”

As an organization that centers notions of “home” as sites for cultural engagement and inquiry, we understand that a shift in social consciousness is needed to change how we see and relate to people experiencing houselessness to solve the problems that put them there.

The We in Me furthers homeLA’s mission to promote intersectionality and cultivate inclusivity through the embodied exchange of ideas around varied contextual imaginings of “home.”
