Being Work: Laying Groundwork for Shared Practices, originally scheduled for January 11 at the Wolford House, has a new date and location! We are so grateful that the Feminist Center for Creative Work be hosting this important working group conversation. The missions of homeLA and the FCCW have always been aligned as programs that were developed in LA around the same time.

Laying Groundwork for Shared Practices is a program that brings together curators, dancers, and artist-producers into conversation to explore how dance and performance art can be better integrated and supported within Los Angeles’ visual arts landscape. It has been created in partnership with Dorothy Dubrule supported by YOLA mezcal. This is private-gathering. The findings will be published on our website.

The program was originally part of homeLA’s residency at the Wolford House for January 2025. Due to the fires and other unforeseen circumstances with the location, most of our residency programs were re-scheduled or canceled. The residency also included the development and filming (cancelled) of a dance film with director Christina Burchard and choreographer Genna Moroni and Framing the Narrative, a public conversation moderated by Jia Yi Gu between Simon Leung, Clarissa Tossin with Crystal Sepulveda, and Genna Moroni, which will still be held on January 25th.
